Grumpy old curmudgeon

Who are you, and how did you get this way?

It's good to live as many lives as you possibly can in the time allotted to you here on Earth. I may have overdone it a bit.Taking the long way around, I've met and worked with so many different people from every walk of life. It was certainly a dumb idea to drop out of university, but I stumbled into International moving, where I met London gangsters, aristocrats and Ambassadors, the Queen's horse trainer and many, many more.I spent a lot of time in technology, working on fun projects like prototypes for GameBoy Advance, early GPS systems, and Hard Disk Drives. I ended up teaching University professors how to program ARM devices, how's that for full circle? Now I'm folding all those years of crazy experiences into my books. I hope you enjoy reading the resulting tales!Peter Maloy

STELLA JORETTE

Stella's first four novels

I found Stella Jorette's Harmony Lost on the late lamented Twitter site. Intrigued by the story premise, a surreal time travel piece, I bought the book and was hooked.By pure chance, the first book of the series opens in the 1970s in the very time and area where I grew up in England. I was struck by the authentic feel of the work. The story weaves between the fortunes of a frankly decadent and out of control musician, and mysterious agents from the future. Standing between the two trying to keep the musician's career and the fate of the world on track is Pam, a time traveller inhabiting the body of the musician's girlfriend.I love all these books, but Harvest of Shadows is by far my favourite. Stella deftly guides a team of hugely incompatible characters following a deceptive and dangerous mission without missing a beat. Futuristic and retrograde, with just a dash of the supernatural. A truly great read.Check out Stella's books, reviews of other authors' work and short fiction at www.stellajorette.com
